| SUNDAY: |
Arrive Geraldine mid to late afternoon, meet, greet and welcome. Afternoon tea and meet homestay hosts in nearby village of Woodbury. |
| MONDAY: |
Informal language practice: introductions, everyday greetings, social English. Farms, animals, rural activities.
Afternoon visit to working farm, includes sheep dog demonstrations, farm talk, lambs, sheep, cattle.
Orientation visit, Geraldine. |
| TUESDAY: |
Informal language practice: arts, crafts, Maori language, culture, customs.
Afternoon visit to local marae, craft workshops, kapa haka. |
| WEDNESDAY: |
Informal language practice: Scenic NZ, local history, pioneer culture. Lunch at Lake Tekapo.
Afternoon at Tekapo; hot pools, spa, ice-skating, historic church, dog statue (pools, spa, ice-skating activities not included in package).
Bonus Wednesday evening: real Kiwi culture fish and chips takeaway and movie night at home (e.g. Whale Rider, World’s Fastest Indian, or own choice). Hosts welcome. |
| THURSDAY: |
Informal language practice: Tourism, outdoor activities, village walk, historic church, sports ground for games (e.g. learn touch rugby) and/or creative art activity, depending on weather.
Afternoon visit to Peel Forest for horse-riding and bush walk (cost not included in package). |
| FRIDAY: |
Informal language practice: food, shopping, entertaining, international culture and customs. Food shopping trip to Geraldine.
Afternoon spent preparing dishes to share for evening farewell BBQ or pot-luck dinner at home. Hosts and locals welcome. |
| SATURDAY: |
To Geraldine for goodbyes and departures. |
